The town of State College is located near the geographic center of the state of Pennsylvania, USA. Its climate is typical of a temperate zone, with marked seasonal variations in temperature and precipitation.

Fall: Days are often warm and sunny, nights cool; temperatures range from 60°F (15°C) in the daytime to 32°F (0°C) at night.

Winter: Continously cold weather with an occasional mild day; day temperature averages 32°F during December and 20°F during January. Minimum temperature can go below 0°F (-20°C) in January and early February. Snow, sometimes deep, is possible anytime.

Spring: Increasingly warm, sunny days, cool nights; temperatures sometimes reach 60°F to 80°F (15°C to 27°C). Frequent, brief thundershowers.

Summer: Temperatures average from 70 °F to 90°F (25°C to 35°C) with medium to occasionally high humidity.

The Centre Area Transportation Authority (CATA) provides bus transportation inside State College and to other surrounding areas like Bellefonte or Pleasant Gap. The usual fare is 1.25 USD, except the Loop and Link lines which provide fare-free service around the Penn State Campus and Downtown State College.
